Irish Music Night in Celebration of Saint Thomas More’s Birthday
Each year for a week in February, Thomas More University celebrates the birthday of namesake St. Thomas More. This year’s celebration included Irish Music Night on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019 as TMU and the Fenians of Northern Kentucky presented a free concert, continuing the 21st Annual Tapestry Series of Irish History and Culture. The evening included performances by Ceol Mhór (traditional music with an Irish, Welsh, English and American twist, headed by scholar-musician-raconteur Bill Williams), Murphy’s Law, and Mick McEvilley and Mai Hernon McEvilley (songs and Irish ballads familiar and new). Those who came early were treated to complimentary Irish stew and Irish brew thanks to to the generosity of patrons Dave and Janet Schneider and Molly Malone’s of Covington.
