Thomas More Choir Performance

Thomas More University’s Music Program to Host Concert at Cincinnati Cathedral

Thomas More University Women’s Chorus, Concert Choir, and Chamber Choir hosts an evening of music on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. The event will be held at Cathedral Basilica of Saint Peter in Chains, 325 W 8th St, Cincinnati, OH 45202. Entitled, “Heal,” the program will explore the human journey from solace towards healing and renewed joy.

This will mark the choir’s first live performance since the pandemic began in March 2020. “The music intends to give a glimpse of the many emotions we may have experienced— loss, sorrow, longing, rejuvenation, and joy– from the Covid-19 pandemic. Our students have been through the wringer including rehearsing outdoors, masked and socially distanced to even online recording submissions for ‘virtual choirs.’  They have gained a sense of  innate flexibility, understanding, and compassion over the past 18 months. We are all unbelievably grateful to bring live music back to our community,” says Director of Choral Activities Daniel Parsley, DMA, who also heads the music program at Thomas More. The event is free and open to the public.

The Thomas More University Choral Activities program integrates elements of auditory, vocal, kinesthetic, and aesthetic dimensions of choral music through analysis and exploration of vocal performance, efficient rehearsals, and high-quality performance.
