Message from the President: SACSCOC Approval Received for Three Newest Academic Programs
Dear Thomas More University Community,
I am pleased to share with you the good news that the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) has granted approval for the University to begin three new academic programs – Bachelor of Science in hospitality management; Master of Science in information technology management; and Master of Education in education leadership.
Bachelor of Science in hospitality management
This program will prepare students for the hospitality industry. With support from local partners, including St. Elizabeth Healthcare and Columbia Sussex Hotels, the University will have immediate experiential learning opportunities for students pursuing this program.
Master of Science in information technology management
This program will prepare students for problems in industry as they relate to data and information systems, as well as current issues and best practices for various management positions.
Master of Education in education leadership
This program is designed for experienced teachers with a bachelor’s degree in education and/or a master’s degree in education who want to pursue school principal licensure at the master’s or education specialist levels. An Option 6 alternative certification path will also be paired with the master’s degree to allow candidates to begin working as school principals during their program coursework.
A special thanks to the faculty of the Robert W. Plaster College of Business and the School of Education for their work in designing these new academic programs. Additional details on each of the academic programs will be shared in the coming weeks.
With best regards,
President Joseph L. Chillo, LP.D.
