A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT: REMEMBERING TRUSTEE JOE ROESEL
Dear Thomas More University Community,
It is with great sorrow that Thomas More University shares the news of the passing of Trustee Joe Roesel ’64, a loyal advocate and devoted friend of the University.

As a student at Villa Madonna College, Roesel studied accountancy, was a student-athlete, and a member of the Alpha Delta Gamma (ADG) fraternity. He met his wife, Ellen (class of 1966), while both attended in the ‘60s and would often call her his better half.
Roesel went on to complete a Master of Business Administration at Xavier University and spent most of his professional career in finance, rising to the role of CFO for St. Elizabeth Healthcare. He developed a medical consulting company before becoming the financial director of Radiology Associates of Northern Kentucky until his retirement in 2005. In 2021, he retired again after seven years of service as a Crestview Hills City Councilmember.
Roesel has served Thomas More University on the Board of Trustees since 2023 and was a member of the steering committee for the Second Century Campaign. He is a member of the Thomas More University Athletics Hall of Fame (Class of 2018) and is celebrated as much for being a leading scorer for the men’s basketball team as for his hustle, drive, and team spirit. The Roesels have helped ensure this tradition of excellence continues at Thomas More as members of the All Saints Club.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Roesel family and ask that you join us in continued prayer for Joe Roesel, his family and loved ones, and all whose lives have been touched by his generosity. We will share additional details as they become available.
Best,
President Joseph L. Chillo, LP.D.
