Thomas More College’s monthly Eat and Create Series with Writer-in-Residence Pauletta Hansel offers opportunities for the community to join TMC staff, faculty and students for some creative fun. Join us 12:00-12:50 pm the fourth Monday of each month this fall semester. Bring pen and paper and an open mind. Brownbag lunch is optional!

Monday, September 23: Photographic Memory: Bring one or more family photos, or just your own memory of photographs that were (or should have been) taken. Our writing will be inspired by these images of days gone by. (12:00-12:50 pm in the Chancellor’s Room, Administration Building)

Monday, October 28: Noontime Madness: Cincinnati playwright John Ray’s plays “were fringe before there were Fringe festivals,” according to Cincinnati Enquirer’s Jackie Demaline. Come play with making plays in this fast-paced workshop. (12:00-12:50 pm in Room 316 in the Library)

Monday, November 25:  Truth or Truth?: Is your truth mine? Who gets to say? Inspired by a “Ted Talk” by spoken word poet Sarah Kay, TMC’s Creative Writing Vision Program Teaching Assistant Courtney Smalley leads a thought-provoking exploration of what we think we know about truth. (12:00-12:50 pm in Chancellor’s Room, Administration Building)

Thomas More College’s Eat and Create Series is hosted by TMC’s Writer in Residence Pauletta Hansel, a Kentucky-born writer whose most recent books of poetry include The Lives We Live in Houses (Wind Publications 2011) and What I Did There (Dos Madres Press 2011). She has led creative writing programs for Grailville in Loveland, Ohio, the Urban Appalachian Council and at schools and community settings regionally and beyond.
