Psych Bowl

In March 2014 five of TMC’s outstanding psychology majors won second place in the State of Kentucky at the Kentucky Psychological Association’s Psychology Bowl. The team included John Notorgiacomo, Katie Tolbert, Brent Emerson, Jenn Adkins, and Christina Brackett-Newport. In the final round they gave opponent, Bellarmine College, strong competition and made TMC proud. Congratulations to each of these hard-working and dedicated students!

Semantics Gallery Showing

Three TMC art students were selected to show their work at the Semantics Gallery College Invitational in April 2014. Thomas More College was one of three colleges selected for this exhibit. (The others were NKU and Art Academy of Cincinnati.) Works by Maddie Pohlgeers, Karen Cress and Jacob Condon were featured in the exhibit.

ASK Participants

TMC students from the Sociology and Criminal Justice Department presented at ASK (Anthropologists and Sociologists of Kentucky) held at Centre College in April 2014. Participants included: Amber Cox, Beth Kammer, Ricky Snow, Destiny Herfurth, Chloe Amitin, and Kathleen Johnson.

 

History Majors present at Regional Conference

Kaylan Hart presented “The Brookside Strike of 1973: Women as

Catalysts for Victory,” at the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society Regional Conference in March 2014, at Eastern Kentucky University and took a third place award for undergraduate papers. Joel Cerimele presented “Pillars of St. James of the Valley: Building a Parish.”

 

An Unlikely Place to Find a Scholarship

Congrats to TMC student Mitchell Kreige, who was awarded the Red Barrington Scholarship by Northern Kentucky Fly Fishers, Inc. His course of study in Environmental Science (specifically watershed management and stream restoration) made him the recipient of this $1000 award. The award banquet will be held in November 2014 in Hebron, Ky. Mitchell is a biology department work study and an intern at the Biology Field Station. Excellent work Mitchell!

OWNK Honors TAP Student with Scholarship

As a TMC TAP student, Melisa AlJamal received a 2014 Outstanding Women of Northern Kentucky Scholarship in April 2013. Melisa is currently working towards her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree while working full time with Citigroup and actively volunteering in the tri-state.
