TMC Hosts Nov 9th Observatory Open House – “Humans in Space: Past, Present & Future”

Humans in Space: Past, Present & Future
Presented by:  Dr. Wes Ryle

What:

The first human was launched into space in 1961.  Since that time, we’ve sent astronauts to the Moon and built space stations in Earth orbit.  The largest such facility to date, the International Space Station, has been continually occupied by humans for almost 13 years.  Join us as we discuss the people and technology that have enabled humans to live in space, as well as some of the cutting edge ideas for reaching further into the cosmos.

Join us afterward for an up-close look at the moon, stars, and more with telescopes at The Bank of Kentucky Observatory (weather permitting).

This talk is intended for a general audience.  All ages are welcome.  The event is free and open to the public.  Thomas More College faculty and students will assist visitors in using the telescopes at the observatory.
